As a parent myself, I know what it’s like to be worried about my child’s mental health and to trawl through counsellor profiles looking for the person who can help them. 

Over the past decade I have worked with hundreds of children and young people within local childrens’ mental health charities, in schools working with children effected by domestic violence and in private practice. I also have eight years’ experience at another local charity working with LGBTQ+ adults and young people and those who are questioning their sexuality or gender.

I now specialise in working with young people of 11 years and upwards.

There are many reasons you might be looking for help for your child. I have helped children and young people with issues including anxiety, sadness, bullying or problems at school, fear, low mood, family break-ups, low self-esteem/confidence, ASD, sibling rivalry, sexuality and gender, dealing with change, loss of loved ones/pets, anger, behavioural and attachment issues.

I chose to train in integrative therapy because it allows me to tailor each client’s therapy to their individual needs. I can quickly put your child at ease and create the therapeutic relationship needed for change to occur. Making the sessions fun by playing games or doing art and crafts. I listen to their worries and their stories and where appropriate help them to see things differently. I help build their self-esteem and challenge their limiting beliefs. 

Pudding is a 6 year old cavachon who was certified as a therapy dog the day she turned nine months old. She loves being with my clients and seems to just know what each person needs. Sometimes that means playing with her or having her sit quietly by them or on their knee being stroked, other times she will merely be a calming presence in the room.

I receive regular supervision to ensure the safety of myself and my clients and keep up to date on current practice by gaining at least 30 hours’ continuous professional development a year and am member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society adhering to their ‘Code of Ethics’. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate. Both myself and Pudding are covered by professional liability and indemnity insurance.
